Happy Muslim Mama: Summer Garden

Last year I cleared the garden out, only to find that over winter it had turned into a dumping place for the things my husband picks up through his removals business:

I really liked the idea of creating a nice little haven and particularly somewhere nice for my mother-in-law to sit and enjoy the good weather we are getting at the moment. So earlier in the week I spent about three hours filling bags of rubbish, pulling up weeds, and clearing out old paint tins and petrol cans 🙁 The better half brought home a lovely bench and a reasonable table and umbrella from one of his jobs (did I mention I love his job?). I found some lovely flowers in the 99p shop (the one in Barking, East London is usually where I pop into) including the big pink geraniums in the picture below.
The view from the bench is lovely and the last few evenings have been spent with everyone pulling up chairs and having tea and chatting in the garden. Home feels very much like a little sanctuary right now alhamdulillah.
